Daniel 'Danny' M. Dodson

Daniel M. ‘Danny’ Dodson, 58, of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 in the Albert Chandler Hospital at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Ky. Born September 21, 1956, in Pomeroy, Oh., he was the son of the late Arnold and Agnes Lawhorn Dodson. He was a retired coal miner for the Southern Ohio Coal Company. Danny was a member of the Rejoicing Life Christian Church, of Middleport, the Unite Mine Workers of American, and a former member of the Meigs County Jaycees.

Danny is survived by his wife Virginia Bird Dadson, whom he married on April 19, 2001 in Middleport, Oh., two daughters, Tirzah Smith, of Racine, and Chelsie (Jason) Able, of Bradenton, Fl., three sons, Ryan (April) Dodson, of Allen, TX., Josh Dodson, of Bradenton, Fl., and Craig (Bobbi) Wolfe, of Pomeroy, and grandchildren, Sophia Dodson, Olivia Dodson, Kyler Able, Josiah Smith, Axel Shuler. A sister, Pam Moyer, of Bradenton, Fl., and three brothers, David (Arlene) Dodson, of Point Pleasant, Alan (Liz) Dodson, of Albany, Oh., and Britt (Stacy) Dodson, of Pomeroy, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to Danny’s parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Shawn Wolfe, in 2003.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in the Cremeens Funeral Home, Racine. Pastor Chad Dodson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Letart Falls Cemetery.
