Dennis Ray Oxyer, 66, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away, at his residence. He was diagnosed with cancer approximately 6 months ago and it took his life on October 18, 2017. Born February 23, 1951, in Gallia County he was the son of the late Dennis Oxyer and the late Mildred Mae Wheaton Herndon. Dennis was an automobile mechanic, who had several body shop business’s and was a truck driver until he became disabled.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Oxyer, of Columbus, his son, Denny Oxyer, and three daughters, Kristina Oxyer, Amber Young, and Tricia Pike., two grandsons, Brady Jackson, and Deagan Winland. A brother, Rickie (Kathy) Oxyer, of Huber Heights, and a sister, Angela Hendershot, of Pennsylvania, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, Dennis is preceded in death by a brother, Bill Oxyer.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 20, 2017 in the Poplar Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Dan Claypool officiating. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Pomeroy is entrusted with the arrangements.
