Gustava Mae (Jane) Johnson Bodkins, 101, formerly of Racine, passed away at 10:34 a.m., November 19, 2016, in Ravenswood, WV. She was born June 24, 1915 in Webster County, WV, to the late Jacob Good and Samantha Holcomb Roberts.
She loved refusing to believe - or act- her age, spending time with her girls, visits with her great-great-grandbabies, eating sweets, gardening, singing and drawing. She spoke fondly of her years on the family farm and her life in Racine with Ralph at Johnson’s TV Sales and Service. She never met a stranger and loved everybody.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister; Lorena Perrine, Husbands; Ralph Johnson and Roy Bodkins, son; Wilber Eugene Barnett, and daughter; Carol Sue Barnett. She is survived by a special sister (cousin); Louise Groves; children; Wendell (Helen) Barnett, Craigsville, WV and Kyle Barnett, Sutton, WV. Grandchildren; Connie Summers, Ripley, WV, Paula (Craig) Cottrill, Syracuse, OH, Tony (Kathy) Barnett, Craigsville, WV, Kay (Chuck) Riddle, Elkins, WV, Danny Barnett, David Barnett, and Cathy Cutcher, all of Charleston, WV. Great Grandchildren; Crystal (Dale Gibbs) Cottrill, Syracuse, OH, Rachael (Scott) Exline, Syracuse, OH, Chad Barnette, Knoxville, TN, Sarah Barnett, Beckley, WV, Karen (Matthew) Jarvis, Coal Grove, OH, Timmy Riddle, Elkins, WV, Phoebe Riddle, Elkins, WV, Michele Smith, Charleston, WV. Great Great Grandchildren; Taylor Cottrill, Hunter Cottrill, Parker Exline, Oliver Exline, all of Syracuse, OH, Lily and Ivy Barnette, Knoxville, TN, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine, OH. Calling hour begins at Noon and the funeral will begin at 1 p.m.. Burial will follow at the Bald Knob Cemetery.
