Joyce Ann Mayo, 59, of Jackson, and formerly of Gallia County, passed away, at 7:28 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 in Edgewood Manor located in Wellston, Ohio. Born March 5 1957, in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late Artis Bunch Sr. and Florence Figgins. She was a dispatcher for the Gallia County Sheriff’s office in her earlier years, she then worked at the Holzer Medical Center as a nurse’s aide, she then retired from the A.E.P. Gavin Plant in Cheshire. After retirement she spent her remaining years with her children, grandchildren, siblings, and her friends always helping whoever in whichever way she could and knew how.
Joyce is survived by her son, Trent E. ( Sarah) Mayo, of Gallipolis, and daughter Brandi J. Mayo, of Jackson, grandchildren, Porsha Mayo, Keisla Kormanik, Kayon Mayo, Kaysen Mayo, Drake Mayo, Jaelynn Jones, Kialyn Jones, Quinlan Jones, Alaina Donohue, Tyran Mayo. Brothers; John A. Bunch and Artis “Boo” Bunch, Jr., sisters; Julia V. Jordan and Christy (Jerry) McCarter Rider, her step-mother, Margaret Bunch, her childhood best friend, Teri Spencer Howell, her former husband, Stanley E. Mayo, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her sister, Salome McCarter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016 in the Cremeens Funeral Chapel, Gallipolis. Pastor Calvin Minnis will officiate and interment will follow in the Bunch Cemetery.
