Norman J. “Jerry” Schoonover, 78, of Cheshire, passed away after an accident on November 6, 2017 in Cheshire. Born March 14, 1939, in Chauncey, Ohio he was the son of the late Clarence “Tan” and Freda Little Schoonover. He was a retired union president at the Kaiser Aluminum Corp., Ravenswood, West Virginia, after he retired he drove as a wide load escort driver. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a member of the Point Pleasant Moose Lodge # 731 and Rutland High School Alumni Association.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and three sisters-in-law, Jean Schoonover, of Rutland,  Mickie Schoonover, of Vinton, and Naomi Schoonover, of Columbus. 

In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Marge Thomas Schoonover, brothers, Edward, Bob, Jake, Jack, Lindy, Gene, Charles, Thomas, and William Schoonover, and a sister, Juanita Bolen.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, November 10, 2017 in the Cremeens King Funeral Home, Pomeroy. Pastor James Keesee will officiate and interment with full military honors provided by the Drew Webster Post #39 in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
