Opal Watson Conger, 75, of Pomeroy, passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015 at her residence. Born October 27, 1939, in Mason West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Mary Justice Watson. She was a homemaker.
Opal is survived by two daughters, Brenda Meldau, of Pomeroy, and Loretta (Shawn Chapell) Lunsford, Pomeroy, and two sons, James (Michelle) Taylor, of Middleport, and Brian (Jennifer Mankin) Taylor, of Middleport, twelve grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Mary Christine Rose, of Middleport, Sharlene Foreman, of Middleport, and Paulette Watson, two brothers, Stanley (Evelyn) Watson, of Middleport, and Marion (Edith) Watson, of Pomeroy, special friends, Roger and Shirley Powell, Sandy Lamott, Tommy Harper, Katie Pullins, Cindy Caldwell, Mark Proffit, and Robin Hubbard, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents’ Opal is preceded in death by her husband Clarence Conger on August 18, 2010, and brothers, Larry Watson, Ricky David Watson Sr., and Terry Watson.
There will be no calling hours or funeral services. A memorial graveside service will be conducted in the Beach Grove Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
