Ruth Ann Stanley

Ruth Ann Stanley, 75, of LaGrange, Georgia, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.

Born December 23, 1939 in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late Hollis Woodrow and Helen Florence Caldwell Saunders, and granddaughter of the late Henry A. and Nancy Myers Saunders and J. Everett Caldwell and Minnie Sheets Caldwell Eblin, she was a homemaker.

She graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 1958. In addition to Gallipolis, she lived in Dayton, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Lady Lake, Florida; and LaGrange, Georgia. In retirement, she traveled the United States in a fifth wheel RV with her husband Paul. She loved her family, genealogy, photography, traveling, gardening and bird watching.

Surviving are her husband, Paul B. Stanley, whom she married June 7, 1958 in Gallipolis; a daughter and son-in-law Paula and Dr. Stephen M. Collins of LaGrange, Georgia; two grandchildren Elizabeth A. Collins of Valley, Alabama and Joseph R. Collins of LaGrange, Georgia; a sister and brother-in-law Rita K. and Larry M. Layne of Sheridan, Arkansas, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was preceded in death by niece Betsy A. Layne.

Services will be on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.  in Cremeens Funeral Chapel, Gallipolis,  with Rev. Eugene Harmon officiating. Burial will be at Ridgelawn Cemetary. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday two hours prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Paul B. Stanley, Elmer Stanley, Scott Stanley, Trevor Small, Joseph Collins, Eric Layne, Wendell Rossiter, and Charles Small.
