Theodore M. ‘Ted’ Jones, 66, of Columbus, passed away at 5:14 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Mt. Carmel East Medical Center, in Columbus Ohio. Born May 1, 1949 in Pineville, Kentucky he was the son of the late Harold and Dessie Robbins Jones. Ted attended the Ohio State University and was an electronic assembler for the Tracewell Systems Company of Columbus, Ohio.
Ted is survived by his wife, Linda Beck Jones, whom he married on June 29, 1975 in Columbus, Ohio, two sons, Timothy Jones, of Columbus, and Kevin Jones, of Columbus. Two brothers, Frederick (Vera) Jones, of Redlands, California, and Larry (Jena) Jones, of Reynoldsburg, Oh., and two sisters, Alfreda Price, of Independence, Missouri, and Collen (Rice) Zambrano, Blacklick, Oh., a step-father, David (Lois) Smith, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents Ted is preceded in death by a half-brother, Terry Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cremeens Funeral Chapel, Gallipolis. Pastor Alfred Holley will officiate. Interment will follow in the Centenary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
