Wanda O. Steele, 88, of Gallipolis, passed away at 3:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in the Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. Born June 21, 1930 in Radcliff, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Aldo and Etta Cooper Jeffers. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God, aIC, Pasadena, California.
Wanda married Carl W. Steele on November 22, 1950, in Richmond, Indiana and he preceded her in death on December 25, 2004.
She is survived by her children, John S. (Julie) Steele, of Naperville, Il., Marta J. Prose, of Gallipolis, Jeffrey C. Steele, of Gallipolis, Aldo A. Steele, of Gallipolis, Ida J. Steele, of Gallipolis, Robert D. Steele, of Gallipolis, James A. (Michelle) Steele, of Gallipolis, and Leah A. (Greg) McLin, of Erwin, Tenn., grandchildren, Erin J. (Greg) Greenlee, Sarah M. Stanley, Meghan J. (Brandon) Denney, Katherine J. Steele (David Rupp), Valerie (Stephen) Tardella, Christopher A. Steele, James B. Steele, and Olivia M. Hendershot. Great-grandchildren, Sydney and Shelby Greenlee, Madelyn Riel, Cooper and Tucker Denney, and Madeline Rupp, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents and husband, Wanda is preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Nollenberger, and a brother, Aldo K. Jeffers.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis. Elder Dave Bussell will officiate and interment will follow in the Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
