Wilmer E. Halfhill

Wilmer E. Halfhill, Cheshire, passed away at 8:30 A.M. Friday, August 11, 2017, in the Arbors at Gallipolis. Born February 8, 1943 in Cheshire Township of Gallia County he was the son of the late Wilmer B. and Azada L. Cart Halfhill. He was a retired welder from the American Electric Power Comapny's Phillip Sporn Plant. He had also been a fuel truck driver for the Rizer Oil Company and had attended the Poplar Ridge Baptist Church. Wilmer is survived by his two sons, Wilmer E. (Shannon Gonzalez) Halfhill II and Andrew D. Halfhill, both of Louisville, Kentucky, two granddaughters, Dawn Halfhill and Caroline Halfhill, his sister, Judy (Wayne) Thompson, Gallipolis and two brothers, Douglas E. (Angie) Halfhill, Cheshire and Thomas R. (Michele) Halfhill, Cheshire and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell E. Halfhill and Joseph Frank Halfhill. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 14, 2017 in the Campaign Cemetery in Addison Township. Pastor Rick Barcus will officiate. In keeping with Wilmer's request there are no calling hours. Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis, has been entrusted with Wilmer's arrangements.
