Cathy M. Tomlinson

Cathy M. Tomlinson, 60, of Gallipolis, OH, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2020.

She was born to parents David and Faith (Blackley) Provencio, on February 21, 1960 in Los Angeles, CA.

 Cathy worked as a Chef/Deli Connoisseur for 20 plus years. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, and making jewelry. Cathy was an excellent cook and loved to share dishes she had prepared. Cathy had lived in many states over her lifetime including: Ohio; Georgia; Kansas; Colorado and California. She had hoped to travel again after having a knee replacement later this year. Cathy was extremely proud of her daughter, granddaughters and great granddaughter. Her selflessness and love for her family was made clearly evident when she moved back to Ohio within 3 days after 9/11-she wanted to be with her family. Cathy loved and adored her male canine companion, Pooky-Wooh, whom she rehabilitated after being rescued from a puppy mill. Pooky-Wooh is now with Cathy’s daughter and will be loved and well taken care of. 

Cathy had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a beautiful contagious laugh. She had a loving and compassionate heart. She tried to help people if and when she could. The death of her son was the hardest thing she had ever endured but yet she held onto the promise that one day they would be together again, and now they are together in Heaven.

 Cathy is survived by a daughter, Florence Tomlinson; Granddaughters: Chloe and Jamie Heskett; Great Granddaughter, Jadyn Adamson; Sister-in-law, Elizabeth (Clyde) Putney; Niece, Elizabeth Putney; as well as many nieces and nephews in California and Pennsylvania. Cathy felt blessed to have a special friend, Charlene Carter. She is also survived by her special canine companion of 8 years, Pooky Wooh.    

She was preceded in death by her parents: David and Faith Provencio; Brother: David Provencio; former husband, James Tomlinson II; Sister-in-law, Sonia (Italo) Donatucci; and a son, James (Jim) Tomlinson III. 

The family has entrusted Cremeens-King Funeral Home with the arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time.
