Charles Edward Nance, 68, Gallipolis, passed away at 6:45 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2025 in the Abbyshire Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born January 1, 1957 in the Kitts Hill community of Lawrence County, Ohio he was the son of the late Waldo Curtis and Lillian Wilkens Nance. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Bethesda United Methodist Church in Walnut Township. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Sharon Allen Nance, whom he married July 27, 1975 in Northup, Ohio, his three children, Kevin R. Nance, of Gallipolis, Melanie D. (Douglas Palmer) of Jacobsburg, Ohio and Travie E. Nance, of Marietta, Ohio, his one grandson, Douglas Edward Palmer and several nieces and nephews. Charles enjoyed being a friend, father and husband and enjoyed watching football, basketball and wrestling on television. he was preceded in death by his father, Waldo Nance, his biological mother, Lillian Wilkens Price, his step-mother, Vivian Sowards, two brothers, Stephen Nance and Waldo Nance Jr. and his sister, Mary Ferguson. Charles requested no calling hours or funeral service. Cremation services are by the Cremeens-King Funeral Home.
