Charles “Tom” Thomas Chapman Sr. passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, at Grant Medical Center, in Columbus, Ohio at the age of 83. He was born June 2, 1942, to his late parents, Clarence and Louise Burri Chapman, in Letart, Ohio. Tom attended Racine Methodist Church where he was a faithful member and especially enjoyed the men’s breakfast and making fudge for the dinners. Tom enjoyed being a homebody after retiring from Kaiser/Constellium in Ravenswood, West Virginia. He loved watching boxing and his beloved Cincinnati Reds.
Tom is survived by his son, Charles Thomas Chapman Jr. (C.T.) and daughter-in-law, Tammy, granddaughter, Rachel Hupp (Tony), grandson, Ryan Chapman (Shauna), great-granddaughter, Addi Ramsburg (Braden), and great-grandsons, Tyson and Tucker Hupp, and Brooks Chapman. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Beverly Chapman, niece, Lori Kearns, C.T.’s mom, Barbara, and many friends and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara L. Chapman and his brothers, Jack and Ronnie Chapman.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home in Racine from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Letart, WV at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Fisher officiating.
