Charles “Took” Salser, 93, of Racine, passed away, at 4:40 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2022 in the Overbrook Center, Middleport. Born October 12, 1928, in Dorcus, Ohio he was the son of the late Grover and Emma E. Lucas Salser. He was a retired operating engineer for the Rish Inc., Columbus, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of seventy-two years, Betty Martin Salser, a daughter, Diane (Larry) Jones, of Shreveport, Lousianna, a son, Steve Salser, of Buford, South Carolina, grandchildren, Shelly (John) Carruth, Shannon (Bill) Ahern, and Tyler (Brittnay) Salser. A brother, Ronald (Cookie) Salser, of Racine, sisters, Mannon Thompson, of Blairsville, Georgia, Rose Mary Evans, of Rio Grande, and Carmen (Sam) Price, of Portland, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas Salser, brothers, Grover Salser Sr., and Lowell Salser, and a sister, Carol Birch.
Per his request there will be no calling hours. Private family services will be at the convenience of the family.
