David B. Herdman, 70, of Rutland, passed away, at 8:29 am on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at his residence. Born February 11, 1955, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Oley Everett and Ardella Verta Hoschar Herdman. He was a retired carpenter. He was an Army Veteran and a member of the Rutland Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Herdman whom he married on March 9, 1979, in Pomeroy, his children, Kelly Herdman, of Columbus, David Herdman II, of Gallipolis, and Johnny Herdman, of Pomeroy, grandchildren, Jonathan Charles, Mikehla Detar, Ashlynn Adkins, Tracey Herdman, Alana Herdman, Tawney Herdman, and Timber Herdman, great-grandchildren, Emmy, Jonathan Jr, and Callie Charles, Regan and Lincon Detar, and Chloe, Minerva, and Wren, a sister, Priscilla Riddle, of Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Oley, Ephriam, Ronnie, Keith, Timmy, and Donald Herdman, and a sister, Janet Herdman.
Cremation services are entrusted to the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Pomeroy.
