Deloris Ellen Rife, 81, of Middleport, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence, at 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Born October 16, 1944, in Mason County, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George Leslie and Sybil Edna Herdman Greene. Deloris was a long-time member of the Hartford Church of Christ in Christian Union. She was known for her beautiful voice and love of singing the old hymns. She lived her faith and devoted her life to serving Jesus and her family. She especially cherished time with her grandchildren, filling their lives with warmth, song, and devotion. Her gentle spirit and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Deloris is survived by her children, Jandara (Tim) Ebersbach and Sam (Stephanie) Rife, both of Middleport; her grandchildren, Courtney (Adam) Bullington, Jacob (Leslie) Nitz, Jesse (Jordan) Nitz, Paige (Josh) Pfeifer, Halo (Matt) Humphrey, Phoebe Rife, and Olivia Rife; her great-grandchildren, Logan, Quentin, Lincoln, Braylyn, Charlee, and Reid; and a brother, Kenneth Greene, of Hartford, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. “Slim” Rife on May 23, 2020, and brothers, Ralph Greene, George “Midge” Greene Jr., Jim Greene, Gene Greene, Ernest L. “Pete” Greene, and Donald Greene.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home Middleport/Pomeroy Chapel with Pastor Larry Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
