Douglas Rees Obituary

Douglas “Doug” Clift Rees, 71, of Racine, Ohio, passed away at 10:57 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at the Grant Medical Center, in Columbus, Ohio.  Born March 27, 1954, he was the son of the late James “Scottie” and Alleyne Follmer Rees Sr. Doug worked as an operator and retired as a supervisor for Akzo Chemicals, in Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia.  He was also a member of the Racine Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife Phillis Parsons Rees, whom he married in 1988, in Buffalo, West Virginia, and his children Eric (Jennifer) Nazarewycz, of Buffalo, WV, April Nazarewycz, of Letart, WV, and Tonia (Vince) Reiber, of Racine, OH.  Grandchildren, Jake, Emma, Jesse, Corissa, Mallory, Terin, and Dayton, a great-granddaughter, Avery, siblings, James “Jim” Rees Jr., of Racine, OH, Saradelle (Myron) Mack, of Circleville, OH, Gayle (Donna) Rees, of Columbus, OH, Jane Rees, of Winchester, KY, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Wynn Rees, his sister-in-law, Ginny Rees, and brother-in-law Don Hayes.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine with his nephew Jay Rees officiating.  Friends may call from 11:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.  Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
