Ernest "Ernie" Witherspoon

Ernest “Ernie” Witherspoon, 59, of Gallipolis, passed away at 4:55 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, in the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. Born April 7, 1966, in Columbus, Ohio, he was son of William Witherspoon and Dotty Fellure Witherspoon who survives in Gallipolis.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Erenst Wayne Carter, of Columbus, and three grandchildren. A brother Terry Fellure, and a nephew Garrett Fellure also survive.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, in the Old Pine Cemetery, Thurman, Ohio. Pastor Kenneth Geren will officiate and interment will follow. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis is entrusted with the arrangements.
