Irene Brown, 80, of Vinton, passed away, at 6:33 AM on Sunday, May 11, 2025 in the Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. She was born on December 16, 1944, in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania. She was a homemaker and she attended the Potters Wheel Pentecostals Church in Gallipolis.
She is survived by her children, Delores “Dee” (David) Tygart, of Joplin, Missouri, James “Jim” Shank, of Vinton, Yvonne Quarles-Strickland, of Texas, and Jacob (Mellissa) Shank, of Jackson, Texas. Fifteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, a brother, Gerry Marts, and a sister, Dee, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She is preceded in death by her son, Timothy David Shank, Jr.
A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at a later date in the Potters Wheel Pentecostals Church. Cremation services are entrusted to the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis.
