Jerry L Rowe

Jerry L. Rowe, 70, of Racine, passed away, at 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2024 in the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. Born April 3, 1954, in Mason, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John H. and Virginia F. Snyder Rowe. He was a Hocking College graduate and retired from the Southern Ohio Coal Company, Meigs Mine #2. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Association. He also served his country and was a Vietnam Army Veteran. He was a life member of the American Legion Fenney Bennet Post-128, and the Disabled American Veterans Meigs Chapter 53.

He is survived by his significant other, Carolyn Brooks, of Athens, her son, Boyd (Jill) Montle, and granddaughter Jenna Montle, all of New Marshville, Oh., brothers, Roy Rowe, of Racine, and Jay Rowe, of Middleport, sisters, Brenda Tuttle, of Racine, and Becky Davidson, of Albany, and a special friend, Henry Meadows. His daughter, Jennifer Taylor, of Albemarle, NC., grandchildren, Chandler Cummins, Dylan Cummins, and Makynzee Cummins, as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Valeeta Rowe, brothers, John Rowe Jr., Anthony Rowe, and Ricky Rowe, sisters, Judy Nelson and Donna Hawk.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, Racine with Pastor Duke Holbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Gilmore Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post-128. Friends may call at the Cremeens-King Funeral Home in Racine from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
