Karen Jo Dixon, 79, of Gallipolis and formerly of Jackson, passed away, at 3:51 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in the Emergency Department at the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. Born February 28, 1945, in Victoria, Texas, she was the daughter of the late George Cahoon and Ruth Sara Chandler Cleveland. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her sister, Lynn (Robert W.) Jindra, of Gallipolis, grandchildren, Christopher Dixon, and Cristin Dixon both of Virginia. A beloved niece, Robin (Ian) Morrison, of Hillard, a great-niece, Ella Morrison, a nephew, Scott Christy, of Hilton Head, SC., and numerous friends at Holzer Assisted Living.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Dixon, who passed away on February 9, 2008, her son, Thomas Bryan Dixon, and a sister, Marilyn Christy.
Graveside services will be held in the Beaver Union Cemetery, in Beaver, Ohio on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Ann Moody officiating. Interment will follow. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis is entrusted with the arrangements.
