Kevin Lee Carpenter, 54, Big Chimney, West Virginia, passed away at 2:21 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2025 in the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. Born August 26, 1970 in Charleston, West Virginia he was the son of Lucy Harper Teel of Big Chimney and the late Frank Carpenter Sr. He was a 1986 graduate of Herbert Hoover High School and was a welder for the West Virginia Steel Corporation. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife, Ginger. Surviving is his mother, Lucy, his son, Dylan, brother, Frank (Debbie) Carpenter Jr., of Bancroft, West Virginia, uncle, Roger Harper, of Big Chimney, West Virginia, nieces, Krista and Mya, nephew, Joshua. Several great nieces and nephews also survive. To honor Kevin's wishes, he will be cremated. Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis, is assisting the family.
