Larry J. Wiles, 79, of Racine, Ohio, passed away at 8:33 p.m. Tuesday April 7, 2026, in the Holzer Meigs Emergency Department. Born January 30, 1947, in Pomeroy, Ohio, he was the son of the late Orville “Currly” and Betty Hoffner Wiles. He was a retired maintenance worker and also a welder for AEP James M. Gavin Power Plant, in Cheshire, Ohio. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. Larry loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Sarah (Paul) Hoover, of Albany, Rebecca (Eric) Liles, of Racine, and Lisa (Craig) Knight, of Racine, his grandchildren, Brandon (Cassie) Counts, Jarod Koenig, Grace Hoover, and Elizabeth Knight, his great-grandson, Xavier Counts. His sister, Anna (Craig) Darst, of Middleport, a special friend who was like a son to Larry, Steve Teaford, and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Sayre Wiles, his brothers, John Wiles and Jimmy Wiles, and his brother-in-law, John McClintock.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine, Ohio with Steve Teaford officiating. Interment will follow in the Letart Falls Cemetery. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home two hours prior to the service.
