Luther Lee Lovejoy

Luther Lee Lovejoy, 89, of Middleport, Ohio, passed away at 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at his residence.  Born September 23, 1936, in St. Albans, WV, he was the son of the late Jesse James and Bessie Adkins Lovejoy.  He worked for and retired from Defense Construction Supply Depot where he was a supervisor of the machine shop. 

Luther is survived by his sons, Randal (Barbara) Burns, of Dayton, OH, Gregory (Virginia) Burns, of Orient, OH, Christopher (Jody) Burns, of Middleport, OH, and Williams Burns, of Middleport, OH; nineteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Violet Lovejoy Larkin, of Troy, OH; two daughters, Carla Mumaw, of Blue Rock, OH and Tonda Nichols, of Columbus, OH; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Drema Faith Steele Lovejoy on November 10, 2021, a son, Joseph Lovejoy, two sisters, and three brothers.

In keeping with Luther’s wishes, there are no calling hours or funeral service.  Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Middleport-Pomeroy chapel is serving the family.
