Mary R. French, 89, of Gallipolis, passed away, at 7:23 p.m. on Monday, August 15, 2022 in the Holzer Senior Care Center. Born August 21, 1932, in Olive Hill, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late John and Hazel Blankbeckler Bryant. She was a retired L.P.N. for the Gallipolis Developmental Center. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and the River of Life Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Charles Michael) McLain, of Gallipolis, grandchildren, Richard McLain, and Jennifer (Steven) Swords, great-grandchildren, Chantelle McLain, and Savannah Swords. Sister, Iva (David) Lewis, of Ormond Beach, Fl., and Fran (Harry) DeNault, of Ocala, FL., brothers, Clifford (Joyce) Bryant, of Richardson, Texas, Gary Bryant, of Clarksburg, WV., Jeff Bryant, of Dayton, Oh., Doug (Carol) Bryant, of Gallipolis, and John (Debbie) Bryant Jr., of Point Pleasant, WV. And numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James L. French who preceded her on October 23, 2005, sister, Betty Bryant, and brothers, Thomas and Arthur Bryant.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis, with Pastor Bob Hood officiating.
