Mozetta “Mischell” Hutchinson, 71, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away, unexpectedly, on Friday, November 8, 2024 at her residence. Born May 3, 1953, in Gallipolis she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Mary Margaret Young Smith. She was a former employee of Robbins and Myers/ Reliance Electric for 30 years and she also worked at the Holzer Senior Care Center for 6 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Paint Creek Baptist Church.
Mischell is survived by her husband, Lonnie Hutchinson whom she married on August 7, 1976, her son, Courtney (Amy) Hutchinson, of Jackson, and daughter, Monique (Stephanie) Hutchinson, of Gallipolis, grandchildren, Caleb, Josh, and Emily Hutchinson, all of Jackson, Keisha Hutchinson, of Kentucky, Madison, Makayla and Marcus Vance, of Gallipolis, and Chloe and Jaycee Carroll, of Gallipolis. Brothers, Kenny (Angelique) Smith, of The Plains, Mark (Valry) Smith, of Vineland, New Jersey, a sister, Hope Johnston. Brothers-in-law, Larry Hutchinson, and Byron Hutchinson, sisters-in-law, Rosemary Hutchinson, an uncle, Kenton Smith, nephews, Kevin Smith, Antiawan Smith, and Dion Johnston, nieces, Dominique Smith, Nicole Brown, and Kimberly Smith also survive.
She had an unconditional love for her grandkids. She enjoyed going to see them participate in various activist. Most of all she loved the Lord. She had a true and personal relationship with God, where she continued to serve and follow him up until the very end. Her greatest wish was wanting others to follow him as well.
Although we will miss her here on earth, we have comfort in knowing where she’s going. She has ended her journey here on earth and started a new adventure in Heaven.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Alex Hutchinson, nephews, Terran and Jordan Howell Smith, sister-in-law, Cheryl “Sis” Hutchinson, brothers-in-law, Howell “Newt” Hutchinson, Donald Hutchinson, and Roger Hutchinson.
Funeral services will be held at the Paint Creek Baptist Church, at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2024, with Rev. Christian Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Street Cemetery. Courtney, Caleb, Kenny, Mikey, Ray, Chad, Jared, Dion, will serve as active casketbearers, Josh and Joey will serve as honorary casketbearers. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the Church. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis is entrusted with the arrangements.
