Paul D. Bell “Jim”, 90, of Racine, Ohio passed away at 2:46 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at his residence. Born May 20, 1935, he was the son of the late Raymond and Murl Vanmeter Bell. Paul served in the US Army from 1957-1959, was a 59-year member of the Pomeroy Racine Masonic Lodge #164 F.&A.M. of Ohio, and a member of the 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Masons, Valley of Columbus. He retired from Ravenswood Aluminum where he worked for 35 years.
Paul is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Slisher Bell whom he married June 15, 1957, in Pomeroy, Ohio. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Douglas (Milly) Bell, of Racine, Terry Bell Sr., of Middleport, Ohio, and Sherri (John) Erchak, of Stoutsville, Ohio, his grandchildren, Jacob (Kristen) Holman, Betty Jo Holman (Michael Felton), Nicole Holman, Colten (Hannah) Bell, Morgan Bell, Stephanie Bell, and Joshua Bell, and eleven great-grandchildren. A sister, Dorothy Chaney also survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Shawn Bell, a grandson, Terry Lee Bell Jr., two brothers, Raymond “Buster” Bell and Donald (Lois) Bell, and a sister Wilma (Paul) Ervin.
Betty would like to express her thanks to all of the nurses and nurse aides at Marietta Home Health and Hospice, as well extend a special thank you to their daughter Sherri, their granddaughters, Betty Jo and Nicole, and their great-granddaughter Katie Rowe as they were always there to help care for Paul.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18. 2025, with Military honors, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Letart Falls Cemetery, Racine, Ohio. Pastor Mark Mitera will officiate the service. Masonic funeral services will be held at 12:45 pm. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Cremeens-King Funeral Home is entrusted with the services.
