Philip Andrew Hill, 71, of Syracuse, passed away, at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at his residence. Born July 27, 1949, in Pomeroy, he was the son of late Etta Mae Shields and Robert “Bob” C. Hill, who survives in Middleport. He was a retired coal miner for the Southern Ohio Coal Company. He was a member and past master of the Pomeroy/Racine Lodge #164 Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio, a member of the Pomeroy Fraternal order of Eagles Aerie 2171, the Syracuse Community Center, and the Asbury United Methodist Church.
In addition to his father Phil is survived by his wife of 43 years Christine “Chris” McCLain Hill, whom he married on February 24, 1978 in Athens, Oh., children, Rob (Shelly) Hill, of Rutland, Ryan Hill, of Athens, Andrea Blamer, of Washington Courthouse, and Susan (Rob) Sisco, of Washington Courthouse., grandchildren, Chloe Hill, and Chandler Manning. Brothers, Pat (Nancy) Hill and Jay (Brenda) Hill, both of Syracuse, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 in the Letart Falls Cemetery, with Rev. Wesley Thoene officiating and interment will follow. Masonic funeral services provided by the Pomeroy/Racine Lodge #164, will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the graveside on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Phil’s memory to the Asbury United Methodist Church, PO Box 113 Syracuse, Ohio 45779. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home is entrusted with Philip’s arrangements.
