Philip “Joe” Joseph Custer, 79, of Middleport, passed away at 5:17 p.m. on Monday, November 18, 2024, in the Holzer Medical Center. Born November 15, 1945, in Middleport, Ohio, he was the son of the late Theodore and Florence Joseph Custer. Philip retired from Kiser Aluminum and was a third-generation plasterer. He was a member of the Plaster, Cement, Fishers, Brick Layers Local 32 of Pomeroy and he worked many years plastering with his brother Jerry and daughter Jody.
Philip is survived by his wife, April Ellis Custer, of Middleport, Ohio, his daughter, Jody (Christine Lantz) Custer, of Daytona, Florida, and his brother, Jerry (Myrna) Custer, of Racine, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Custer, Jim Custer, Jane Sayre, Janet Custer, and Norma Jean “Pud” Custer.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held on December 21, 2024 from 12 Noon to 3:00 p.m. in the Ewing Swartzel Family Life Center, in Pomeroy.
Cremation services are entrusted to Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Pomeroy.
