Roger G. Willford, 86, of Reedsville, passed away, at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 28, 2021, in the Jackson General Hospital, Ripley, West Virginia. Born October 2, 1935, in Long Bottom he was the son of the late George and Irene Hilton Willford. He was member of the Laborers Local #1085 of Parkersburg, for over sixty seven years. He was also a member of the Freedom Gospel Mission for over 65 years and he also served as the Pastor for thirty six years.
He is survived by his son, Roger Gene (Beverly) Willford, of Albany, grandsons, Bradley (Sahana) Willford, and Travis (Taylor Sommerville) Willford. Great-grandchildren, Logan, Parker, and Audrey Willford, sisters, Odessa Proffitt, Joanne Proffitt, and Immajean Rutledge, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Violet Wells Willford, whom preceded him on June 8, 2017, brothers, Henry, Harry, Throdore and George Willford Jr., sisters, Retha Clonch, Helen Willford, Georgeanna Willford, and Mary Willford.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Browning Cemetery, with Rev. Clyde Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Freedom Gospel Mission PO Box 53, Tuppers Plains, Ohio 45685. The Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine, is entrusted with the arrangements.
