Rickey Lee Sellers, 66, Portland, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2024, in his Lebanon Township home. Born December 13, 1957, in Mason, West Virginia he was the son of the late James Edwin Sellers Sr. and Mary Alveeis Ward Schoonover. Rickey worked at Crucible Steel Corporation until it closed and then went to work for Seller’s Construction in Albany, Ohio building homes and concrete work. He was a very avid hunter, and he especially loved to deer hunt. He was a lifetime member of the Racine Gun Club.
He is survived by his long-time companion, Becky Elder, of Portland, his son, Cody (Shane) Lang, of Rutland, his daughters, Mandy (Chris) Nelson, of Athens, Ohio and Misty (Jeremy) Lowe, of Harrisonville, several grandchildren and great-children. Rickey is also survived by his sister, Mable Ann Sheets, of Racine and brothers, Paul Sellers, of Albany, Joseph (Judy) Sellers, of Panama City, Florida and James Edwin “Toad” Sellers, of Long Bottom. Also surviving is a favorite niece, Jessie Sellers, of Albany, and many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John “Jack” Baker, Gilbert “Gibbie” Sellers and Robert “Bob” Lesley Sellers, his precious grandson, Braxton Lee Day and niece, Lori Sellers.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2024, in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine, with Pastor Joseph Sellers officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service.
