Samuel Eblen VI Obituary

Samuel A. Eblen, VI, 92, of Athens and formerly of Meigs County, passed away at 4:23 AM Wednesday, on May 8, 2019 at his residence. Born on August 11, 1926, Samuel was the son of the late Samuel and Clara Burris Eblen, V. He was a retired Supervisor for the General Telephone Company, a WWII Army Veteran, a former member of the  Auxiliary Ohio State Highway Patrol and Athens County Sherriff's Department Auxiliary. He is also a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 9926,  Mason, WV.

He is survived by his children, Peggy McNair, of Middleport, Samuel Eblen VII, of the Plains, and Sandy Poling, of Athens, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. A sister, Carol Potter, of Canal Winchester, Oh., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Samuel is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Vera (White) Eblen, brothers, Harvey & Harold Eblen, and sisters, Loretta & Betty Eblen

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in the Athens Memory Gardens. With Pastor Barry Bolin Officiating. Full military honors provided by the Mason V.F.W. Post 9926. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Monday, the 13th at the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Pomeroy.
