Tangie Wood

Tangie Wood, 45, of Rutland, passed away, at 7:38 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, in the Wexner Medical Center, at the Ohio State University, Columbus. Born July 31, 1978, in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Mason and Peggy Wood who survive in Rutland. She was a waitress, bartender, and a farmhand.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her children, Ciara (Colton Hannah) Scholderer, of New Marshfield, Oh., J.R. Hamilton, of Lancaster, Oh., and Mason Rathburn, of Rutland, grandchildren, Gracelynn Turner, and Alycen Hannah. Her significate other, Denis Shuler, of Middleport, her brothers, Jesse Wood, of Pomeroy, and Michael (Stacy) Freeman, Jr., of Mt. Alto, WV., a sister, Kimberly (Paul) Swalley, of Kendallville, In., her paternal grandmother, Beatrice Wood, of Rutland, her biological mother, Robin Rathburn, of Rutland and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of Tangie’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation services are entrusted to the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Pomeroy.
