Thomas Lloyd Deeter

Thomas Lloyd Deeter, 72, of Portland, passed away, at 4:40 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at his residence. Born June 1, 1952, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Argyle “Tom” and Florence Daily Deeter. He retired from Sears after 20 years of service and following his retirement he worked for Southern Local Schools for an additional 15 years. He loved to talk about the Lord and discuss the Bible and he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Ohio State football fan, and he enjoyed horses.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Cuvillier Deeter, whom he married in Portland, on July 8, 2005, his sons, Jeremy (Lisa) Deeter, of Logan, Ohio, and David (Ashley) Myers Jr., of Portland, daughters, Kara Duley, of Pomeroy, and Melissa Boswell, of Portland, and grandchildren, Reece Deeter, Jaylan Hanna, Lamia Deeter, Joslyn Hupp, Justyn Hupp, Daylan Myers, Kyra Duley, Westyn Pierce, and Anthony Boswell. A brother, Bob (Connie) Deeter, of Springfield, Missouri, a sister, Joyce Adams, of Portland, a special friend, Shirley Stobart, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Rick Deeter, sister, Judy West, and special friend, John Stobart.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2024, in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. on the day of the service.  Interment will be at a later date in the Morris Chapel Cemetery.
