Violet Louise Taylor, 82, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at her residence. Born November 20, 1943, in Dunbar, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William Jackson and Ernie Belle Harvey Cox. She was a retired receptionist having worked for Lake House West, in Sarasota, Florida.
Violet is survived by her children, James Richard (Ayleen) Call, of Crown City, Ohio, and Beverly Mae Bassett, of Bradenton, Florida; her grandchildren, James R. Call Jr., Kevin Ray Call, Maranda Hall, Tommy Weller, Kimberly Stockstad, Matthew Owens, and Gary Bassett; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Siblings, Dorcas Snap, of Inverness, Florida, and Calvin Cox, of Huber Heights, Ohio, and special friend, Rita Taylor also survive.
In addition to her parents, Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Orville Charles Taylor, in 2012; her sisters, Charlotte Holland, Connie Cox, and Cora Cox; her brothers, Henry Cox, Jimmy Cox, Johnny L. Cox and Clinton Howard Cox; and special friend, Carroll Taylor.
There are no calling hours or funeral services. Violet will be interred next to her husband in the Sarasota National Cemetery, in Sarasota, Florida.
