Wendell J. Ervin, 69, of Racine, passed away, at 4:41 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Wexner Medical Center at the Ohio State University East. Born September 13, 1955, in Pomeroy, Ohio he was the son of the late Paul O. and Wilma E. Bell Ervin. He was a retired bus driver for Southern Local Schools and a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cunningham Ervin, daughter, Stacey (Aaron) Woolard, of Pomeroy, and a son, Dustin (Chasiti) Ervin, of Lovellette, WV, grandchildren, Jesse and Trenton Woolard, and Bennett, Gavin, and Grady Ervin. A special nephew, Jason (Jodi) Ervin, sister-in-law, Mona Ervin, a niece, Kellie (Chris) Neece, sisters-in-law, Virginia (Larry) Lee, Sue (Robert) Smith, Francis (John) Foster, and Mary (David) Shuler, a brother-in-law, Michael (Karen) Cunningham, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Wayne “Buck” Ervin, and Paul Eugene Ervin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Racine, with Rev. Mark Mitera officiating. Interment will follow in the Letart Falls Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home.
