E. Faye Evans, 76, Gallipolis, was called home by the Lord at 5:00 A.M. Saturday, June 25, 2016 in the Holzer Senior Care Center. Born February 2, 1940 in Ashland, Kentucky she was the daughter of the late Owen and L. Myrtle Cantrell Evans. She was a retired licensed practical nurse. Faye took great pleasure in her baking, gardening, sewing and crocheting. Faye also had a great love of creative writing, having many of her poems and songs published and she was a proud member of the BMI record label.
Faye is survived by her three sons, Harold “Hank” (April) Rice, Patriot, Ohio, Rick (Vickie) Rice, Delaware, Ohio and William (Deb) Kimbler, Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Eleven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, a sister, Rita Stacey, of South Carolina and three brothers, Owen Evans Jr. of Minnesota, Don Evans, of California and Gary Evans, of California and a "passel" of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Evans, James Evans and Charles Evans.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, July 2, 2016, in the Cremeens Funeral Chapel. Officiating will be Pastor Jim Chapman. Interment will be in the Calvary Baptist Cemetery, Rio Grande. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Faye’s memory to the American Cancer Society, Central Region Office-Gallipolis, 555 Frantz Road, Dublin, OH 43017.
