Leland “Bud” E. Tope, 81, of Bidwell, passed away, at 1:55 am on Monday, October 23, 2017 in the Abbyshire Place, Bidwell. Born August 22, 1936 in Rio Grande, Ohio he was the son of the late Wendell and Marianna Irwin Tope. He graduated from Rio Grande High school in 1954. He retired from Federal Glass and he also was a farmer. Bud was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, in Rio Grande and enjoyed his memberships in the Gallia County Gun Club and the Gallia County Conservation Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed his many friends at the McCoy One Stop gospel and country music sings in Vinton, Ohio.
Bud is survived by his three sisters, Anita O’Donnell, of Gallipolis, Karen Hamrick, of Mansfield, Oh., and Gaynelle (Jon) Lynch, of Gallipolis, seven nieces and nephews, twelve great-nieces and great-nephews, four great-great nieces and great-great nephews, and several dear cousins.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Richard Hamrick and Odie O’Donnell, and three great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the Cremeens King Funeral Home, Gallipolis. Rev. Patrick O’Donnell will officiate and interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Richard Hamrick, David Hamrick, Michael Lynch, Matthew O’Donnell, John Irwin, and Ernie Irwin will serve as active casketbearers. Tom Pitchford, Ronald Pitchford, Jon Lynch, Bill Hatcher, Bob Taylor, Don Hodge, Cline Saunders, Robin Fisher, Jennings Ferguson, Ross Hamrick, and Joe DiSantis will serve as honorary casketbearers. Friends may call from 6-8 pm on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice, 202 E. Huron Street, Jackson Ohio 45640.
