Mark A. “Dad or Indian” Johnson, Sr. of Patriot, passed away, at 6:35 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017, at his residence. Born February 1, 1957 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Clyde Eugene Johnson and Ruby Viola Terry Gibson. He was a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his son, Mark (Christie) Anthony Johnson, Jr., of Patriot, and daughter, Katherine “Katie” (Adam) Brewer, of Vinton, grandchildren, Destiny Johnson, Mark “Trey” Johnson, III, Chrystian Johnson, Heavenly Johnson, Marian Brewer, Brooke Brewer, Dolly Brewer, great-grandchildren; Haleigh and Albert Ferguson. A sister, Brenda (John) Hickman, of Ray, Oh., brothers; Jerry (Jerry Lynn) Johnson, of Newark, Oh., Charles (Gloria) Johnson, of Jackson, and Wayne Johnson, of Chesapeake, Oh. and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents Mark is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Faye Holbrook Johnson, whom he married on May 28, 1995 in Cadmus, Oh., and preceded him on April 23, 2016, a daughter, Temberley Johnson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017 in the Cremeens-King Funeral Chapel, Gallipolis. Pastor James Ellison will officiate and interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
